Lack of Access to Clean Water in Burkina Faso
Rihanata Ouedraogo (15), wearing her favourite skirt in Koala, Burkina Faso on 1 March 2014, spends over three hours a day fetching untreated water from a dam to meet the needs of herself and her large extended family. If she did not have to collect water, she says she would use the time saved to study.
