Malian Refugees in Mauritania
Mohamedoun Ag Khairi's (52) youngest daughter (ceentre) was hospitalised for malnutrition at a Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) health centre in the Mbera camp for Malian refugees in Mauritania. She is pictured with her family at their tent in the camp on 5 March 2013, having recovered sufficiently to be discharged the previous day. She will continue to be monitored on an outpatient basis. Malnutrition is a growing concern in the camp, particularly for under fives, as their families traditionally live on a staple diet of milk and meat, but UN provided rations are of cereals and grains.
