Implements Used to Cut Umbilical Cord in Cote d'Ivoire
A razor blade and roll of thread of the type once used to cut and tie newborn babies' umbilical cords are seen in the village of Yapleu in western Cote d'Ivoire. A local health centre with a birthing suite that employs modren practices has since been established.
