Food Security in South Sudan
Cecilia Amal with two of her children—Regina Alele Okello and Joseph Comado Okello—at their home in Imurok Payam in Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan on 9 August 2014. Cecilia's husband is a government soldier, and has been away for about a year. Having come to her current home after having had to flee fighting in Juba in December 2013, she says she receives no support from him—locals say that soldiers frequently go unpaid for long periods of time. Facing acute food insecurity, Cecilia received seed to plant from Plan International.
