Menstrual Hygiene Management in Uganda
Viola Abachi (15) keeps her Afripads in a bag hanging on the wall at her home near Tororo in Eastern Uganda. In grade six at at Aputiri Primary School, which participates in a Menstrual Hygiene Management program supported by Plan International, Viola says she has been using Afripads for seven months. She used to use disposable pads before, which was expensive—when there was no money for pads she would have to use rags. But she would still go to school. She says Afripads are good because they have kept her clean.
